Zipprich blames Republicans for his DUI becoming public

Red Bank Councilman likes to have it both ways

Zipprich arrestWhat do Ed McKenna and Ed Zipprich have in common besides the same first name and being Red Bank Democrats? They both have a record of driving the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway after consuming too much alcohol.

The Red Bank Police should put a DUI check on River Rd on Sunday afternoon as McKenna is holding a fundraiser for Zipprich and his running mates at his home from 4-6.  Red Bank Taxi and Red Bank Limo should make sure their drivers are on standby.  The State Police should increase patrols at Exit 109.

MMM broke the news of McKenna’s DUI while driving the wrong way on the GSP on May 15, 2013, two days after it happened.   The Asbury Park Press broke the news of Zipprich’s December 10, 2011 DUI this afternoon on their website.  You can’t get anything past those cracker jack journalists at the APP!

Zipprich blamed “Red Bank Republicans” for leaking a video of his arrest in a quote to APP.

“It is sad that the Red Bank Republicans are not focusing on my record as a councilman, where we have stabilized taxes, made Red Bank a center of arts and entertainment and reduced town debt.

“I will run on my record and will discuss the issues leading up to Nov. 4. If my opponents want to talk about a personal error in judgment that was made three years ago outside of Red Bank, that is their prerogative. I will continue to talk about the issues affecting Red Bank taxpayers.”

The APP article refers to a link of a YouTube video of Zipprich’s arrest.  But the video has been removed by the unidentified YouTube user.

Red Bank Republican candidates for Council, Sean DiSomma and Linda Schwabenbaurer, did not release the video and they told the APP that did not intend to make it part of their campaign.

After Monmouth Democratic Chair Vin Gopal falsely accused DiSomma of having a warrant out for his arrest in Texas during his run for Council last year, Zipprich’s comment to APP is definitely a matter of trying to have it both ways.  If you’re a Democrat, a Republican’s driving record and arrest record is fair game, even if it is not true.  If news of your own real transgressions becomes public, the Republicans must be playing dirty pool.

The APP says that the now unavailable video has been “making its rounds among Monmouth County’s politically connected.”  That’s true.  If the APP had relationships on both sides of the aisle, they might have known about the video weeks ago and download it off YouTube if they wanted to use it, like we did. Instead they look ridiculous tonight by linking to a video that is no longer there in their “breaking news story.”

The truth of the matter is that Zipprich’s DUI has been common knowledge among “politically connected” Republicans for well over a year.  The District 11 Legislators decided not to use the information last year when Zipprich was running for Assembly.

MMM knew about it last year and told Gopal about it after he released his false accusations about DiSomma. Gopal and MMM had a good raport prior his DiSomma fraud and our investigation exposing it.  “Why are you taking the campaign into the gutter?  Do you want Zipprich’s DUI to come out?” I asked him. “If you have it, let it rip,” he said. Maybe Vin didn’t believe me.  That was the first time I saw Gopal’s true colors.

MMM has the video.  We downloaded it from YouTube weeks ago. We don’t know who put it up originally.  We’ll only publish it if the Red Bank Democrats take their campaign into the gutter with personal attacks against their opponents, or if someone else publishes it first.  If the APP wants a copy, my normal rates will apply.  If Red Bank Green wants a copy, my usual content sharing agreement with them will apply. (John can have it for the asking).  If the APP would like me to teach them how to download a YouTube so that they don’t get caught flat footed again, my premium rates apply.

UPDATE:  Red Bank Green has asked for the video, so APP better hurry and pony up if they don’t want to get scooped.

“Quit Your Crying,” put your big boy pants on and get over it because obviously you do not realize that these things are public knowledge. And because of that, you don’t seem to have enough gray matter to serve.

Besides, didn’t some Democrat Operative pull and October Surprise with Bush’s DWI matter?

Even Karl Rove realized he should have been more forthcoming just like Flippy, Larry and Joey should have been.

    QUOTE:

” Of the things I would redo in the 2000 election, making a timely announcement about Bush’s DUI would top the list.”

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. And yet again, the progressive mantra is “do as I say, not as I do.”

Thus, hypocrisy reigns among Gopal’s Democrat candidates.

    Nothing new there.

If Ed Zipprich should get convicted, lets hope fellow Red Bank resident, Jennifer Beck’s ridiculous Bill that reduces the sentence of those convicted of DUI, gets Ed a reduced sentence, LOL.

Are Red Bank residents drinking from the Shrewsbury River?

Thank you for that information. Seriously.

Jenn Beck is going further off the deep end for me.

Yes the Republicans are to blame…private enterprise made the alcoholic beverages, unless it was “bathtub gin”, and it was sold by private enterprise.

Since Republicans support private enterprise, obviously they caused the Red Bank Drinking Team of Ed M. and Ed Z. to over indulge and voila, DUI tickets.

I wonder if Ed M will allow police into his house for Ed Z’s fundraiser? Last time, he wouldn’t let them in after his little problem on the GSP.

Perhaps there should be a ban on sales of alcoholic beverages to Red Bank democrats. That would be the “Big Government” solution. Gee, NJ could also ban Red Bank “Drinkin’ Dems” from driving on public roads, especially the GSP.

Maybe the next time, Ed M will drive Ed Z home…..bad idea.

You can’t make this stuff up!

  7. @TheDigger said at 2:44 pm on October 11th, 2014:

Then when the pair of Ed’s or anyone else for that matter get arrested for DUI, they can benefit by the soft legislation that Jennifer Beck along with a bevy of Democrats sponsored. (See above posts).

Perhaps she is in the wrong party?

  8. @Perhaps said at 3:37 pm on October 11th, 2014:

Bro it’s time to end your weird obsession with Beck. It’s beyond weird and now it’s encroaching on Lifetime Movie Network strange.

As far as Zipprich…how about ya taking some responsibility for yourself and stop blaming the county GOP.

Seriously brah, I know you we were trying your best to make a new “Gin & Juice” video, but Easy-E can’t hang with Snoop D-O-DoubleG.

But as usual with Dems, they are never personally responsible for anything, it’s all “Bush’s Fault.” In all seriousness though, he can apologize all he wants, but it he killed someone that night he would have a lot more to worry about then his damn council seat.

i think that art is a great writer and researcher, i wish he would do an article on mayor jon hornik, he wreaked his porsche into a mail box in marlboro, and hide it in a barn, got it fixed and then coming home from a bar mitzvah he totaled it in his own back yard. he even got insurance money by telling the insurance company that it slipped out of gear and rolled down the hill in his back yard. first of all his driveway is up hill, and has belgian block around the driveway. so it magically went up hill jumped the block and raced down the hill so fast that it totaled the front end and couldn’t be fixed. maybe insurance fraud as well? maybe a least give johnny a call art and see what he has to say.

  12. Republican in name and actions said at 10:52 am on October 13th, 2014:

    Wow.

Blame Republicans for his DUI going public?

Why not blame the Republicans for getting wasted in the first place. It is their fault he got behind the wheel impaired. It is never a Liberals fault for anything they do.

AND why is it ok for the DEMS to falsely accuse someone of having a warrant for their arrest, but when the Replubicans find one of the DEMS candidates actually had a warrant or was arrested it is not acceptable to “make it public”? BTW it is public record as we all know.

Where are all the Dem posters here. They were all over this type of article last year when it was falsely reported by the media and VIN that a Republican had a warrant for his arrest. What a joke.

  13. @ Republican in name said at 11:03 am on October 13th, 2014:

Hey, the Democrats are blaming the GOP for Ebola, so this is a no brainer for Zippy and the Democrats to try and blame Republicans.

    Folks…

The truth is that liberals today will stoop to the lowest depths possible to hide their own problems while casting blame on others.

Why? Because they have nothing to run on.

Besides, as Rahm “Dead Fish” Emanuel said, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” In this latest scene of a tired old act, the Democrats try and distract from Zippy’s problem; but they fail miserably.

at the ballot for election, 2014 for Red Bank, 50% of the Dem candidates have apparently had brushes with the law in some way: the fact remains, we expect those running for public office to be of a higher standard/ moral ground/ life experience. When the voters learn these things, they have to make a judgment call as to who they want in office, or not!
