Michael Torenheim, 33, of Brooklyn, New York, stands accused of sexually assaulting a 13 year old Lakewood boy in a Wall Township motel, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

1,400 old face masks were sitting in a Wall Twp basement. They’re now fighting coronavirus.

Volunteers at one of New Jersey’s most historic museums on Thursday donated more than 1,400 N-95 face masks to a local hospital and other emergency workers to help them fight the spread of coronavirus.

“They were in the back of one of our warehouses, literally gathering dust,” said Mike Ruane, chief executive officer of InfoAge Science and History Center in Monmouth County.

Congressman Smith Tours Storm Damage In CD-4

Congressman Chris Smith toured storm damage sites in Wall Township and Howell Township yesterday afternoon to prepare his appeal to the Trump Administration for federal assistance in the recovery, if Governor Phil Murphy asks the President for FEMA’s assistance, as expected.

Smith said his letter to President Trump is already written and that he is prepared to work for federal reimbursement as soon as Governor Murphy makes the request.  The knowledge he gained on yesterday’s tour will help him make his case to Trump Administration officials and FEMA when he meets with them to appeal for federal funds.

Schoolhouse Road, Neptune and Wall, will close December 1

Schoolhouse Road, which extends from State Route 33 (Corlies Ave) in Neptune Township and Belmar Boulevard in Wall Township, will be open only to local traffic from December 1, 2017 through the end of June, 2018 while Monmouth County replaces the bridge which spans the Shark River. In his comments to MMM regarding his endorsement of Mr. Flancbaum for the LD 30 Assembly position, Senator Singer is quoted as saying, “ I had to defend my county “ ( Ocean ). I’m confused, I thought this Assembly seat, as well Senator Singer’s position, was about the representation at the state level of the residents, businesses and taxpayers of the 14 municipalities comprising LD 30, 12 of which are in Monmouth County.

Singer Endorses Flancbaum In LD 30 Assembly Race

Senator Robert Singer answered Assemblyman Sean Kean’s endorsement of former Wall Township Mayor Ned Thomson to replace Dave Rible in the State Assembly and on the ballot in November with an endorsement of Justin Flancbaum, the Executive Director of the Lakewood Municipal Utility Authority.

Singer told MMM that his endorsement of Flancbaum was prompted by Kean’s nod to Thomson.  “I intended to stay out of the race,” Singer said in a phone interview, “but when Sean jumped in, I had to defend my county.”

Singer is a former mayor of Lakewood.

Hazlet Man Admits Sexually Assaulting Elderly Nursing Home Patient In His Care

Todd Fulton, 43, a certified nursing assistant from Hazlet, pleaded guilty on Monday to sexually assaulting a female patient who was in his care at the then Monmouth County owned Geraldine Thompson Care Center in Wall Township in 2015, according to an announcement by Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

A Monmouth County Grand Jury indicted Fulton on last month for first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of second degree Sexual Assault and one count of second degree Official Misconduct.  He pleaded guilty to one count of second degree Sexual Assault and one count of second degree Official Misconduct before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Scully.

Congressman Smith Honors WW2 Veteran’s Heroic Service

Al Salazar, 93 of Wall Township, was 20 years old when he served under both General Omar Bradley and Lt. General George Patton in World War II. He landed in Europe 73 years ago last week.

Congressman Chris Smith joined Salazar’s family in honoring his service by presenting him the medals he earned, but had not received, during a ceremony at the Xanadu senior condominium club house in Wall Township.
