Eatontown man dies in single car crash on Rt 18 in Ocean Twp

Isaiah D. Calderon-Coleman of Eatontown succumbed to injuries suffered during a single car crash on Route 18 on Saturday night, the Ocean Township Police Department announced.

Law Enforcement Investigating Gun Incidents In Ocean Township

The Ocean Township Police Department is investigating a report of a man armed with a gun in the area of Elberon Blvd and Roosevelt Ave, according to an announcement from the department late on Sunday night.

The call came is at approximately 5 pm on Sunday, the announcement said.  The “caller/victim” was located safe and uninjured and no injuries have been reported in the area. The OTPD, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating.

Torchia promoted to Captain of Ocean Township Police Department

Timothy R. Torchia  has been promoted to the rank of Captain of the Ocean Township Police Department, Police Chief Steven R. Peters announced this afternoon.

Captain Torchia started his career as police officer in February of 1996 for the Borough of Deal and was hired by the Township of Ocean in May of 1998. During his career Torchia has been assigned to the Patrol Bureau, the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Administration. Recently, he served as the department’s public information officer.

Unhappy Endings at Ocean Township Massage Parlor

January is not ending happily for five Monmouth County men and two women with Asian names—one from Palisades Park and one from Queens, NY–who were arrested on prostitution charges at  the ABC Spa on Route 35 in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township.

Ocean Township Police And First Aid Squad Deliver A Baby Girl

Not all police news out of Ocean Township is of drugs, prostitution or shoplifting busts.

Yesterday afternoon Officer Thomas Rant responded to a West Park Avenue residence for a woman in labor.  The woman was full term and having contractions one minute apart, according to a statement by Det. Lt. Timothy Torchia.

The Oakhurst First Aid arrived along with Officers Kevin Donohoe, Phil Jackson and Sergeant Paul Flammia who assisted with the delivery of a baby girl. Both mom and baby were transported to Monmouth Medical Center for further medical care.

Ocean Township Police Announce Drug and Prostitution Arrests

Three women were arrested in Ocean Township on prostitution and drug charges last month, according to announcements from Det. Lt. Timothy Torchia.

On April 2, Marina Sviridenko, 28 of Toms River, was caught in field stop by Detective Michael Legg and Officer Dean Schoch.  The investigation revealed that Sviridenko was engaged in prostitution, was in possession of cocaine and had an active warrant for her arrest in Tinton Falls. She was issued a summons for future court date and turned over to the Tinton Falls Police.

Wanted By The Ocean Township Police

The Ocean Township Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying the woman in the attached photo.

Detective Lieutenant Timothy Torchia didn’t say what the woman is suspected of doing in the Ocean Township Target strore on Saturday night, but it is save to surmise she wasn’t responded to the help wanted sign.

Do you know this man? The Ocean Township Police wants to hear from you

Wanted by the Ocean Township PD

The Ocean Township Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the man in the attached photo.  Detective Michael Melody said that more details may be released upon the man’s identification and arrest, but it is safe to say that he was not in Target to answer the help wanted sign posted on May 11.

Melody also said that the man and another guy were operating this old blue two door Chevy Blazer.
