Golden thanks MONOC partners, reports seamless transition of EMS services

At 7 a.m. this morning, Monmouth Ocean Hospital Services Corp, better known as MONOC, ceased operating as the primary provider of paramedic EMS services in Monmouth and Ocean Counties after 42 years.

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden, a former MONOC paramedic, reports that the transition to the new providers of advanced life support services, Hackensack Meridian Health and Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health, was seamless and that paramedic units from the hospitals have been responding with no interruptions.

Monmouth EMS Task Force Set Up Surge Tents At Local Hospitals

The Monmouth County EMS Task Force has set up surge tents at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold and Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, as a precaution should they become necessary due to the COVID-19, Sheriff Shaun Golden announced. Long Branch Official: Mr. Gopal is not listed as a qualified, trained firefighter in the City of Long Branch

Vin Gopal, the candidate for State Senate in the 11th Legislative District, is not a first responder.

Gopal apparently knows he’s been caught lying to the public for months and is now trying, poorly, to explain himself.

The Asbury Park Press knows about Gopal’s misrrepresentations.  Inexplicably, APP has yet to report on Gopal’s dishonesty.   APP endorsed Senator Jennifer Beck for reelection over Gopal.

O’Scanlon’s Bill Modernizing Emergency Medical Services Becomes Law

Governor Chris Christie on Friday signed a bill sponsored by Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon that brings New Jersey’s Emergency Medical Services into the 21st century by requiring the use of technology for data collection by first responders to deliver the best emergency medical care possible.

“For too long, the emergency medical services system in New Jersey has existed without an overarching mandate to collect the kind of information that is needed in today’s rapidly evolving health care and emergency environments. When calls come into 911 and lives are on the line, we now have the opportunity to collect and assess valuable information that will continually improve the quality of EMS,” said O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth). “This bill puts the patient first, ensuring the best possible care leads to better post-emergency outcomes.” Read the rest of this entry »
