Smith applauds Fed grant to support NJ vaccination sites

Federal dollars flow from legislation he supported

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) applauded this week’s announcement that the federal government is sending $216,000,000 to New Jersey to reimburse the state for vaccination efforts against COVID-19.

“I greatly welcome this important federal reimbursement to assist New Jersey’s six mega sites in the distribution of vaccines,” said Congressman Smith.

Murphy to announce commercial rent relief program in Long Branch

Governor Phil Murphy will be in Long Branch on Thursday to announce a rent relief program for New Jersey businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown.

The program will be funded by federal CARES Act funds, MMM has learned.

I hope everyone took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend and visited our beaches and restaurants in Monmouth County!

With the holiday weekend approaching, I would like to remind everyone to remain diligent in adhering to the social distancing and safety guidelines implemented by the State.

Our restaurants and retailers – especially seasonal – depend on strong summer weekends to keep their staff employed and businesses open. It’s more important now than ever to support them while remaining safe.

Monmouth County receives $108 million in federal COVID-19 relief

Monmouth County has been awarded $108 million in federal CARES Act funds, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone announced.

The $107,974,955.70 comes as part of the $2.2 trillion stimulus package signed into law last month and is to be used to offset the unexpected expenditures related to COVID-19 from March 1, 2020 through Dec. 30, 2020.

Smith announces $24 million for CD-4 colleges and career institutes

Colleges and career institutes in New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District will receive $24 million in emergency COVID-19 funding from the CARES Act, the $2 trillion stimulus bill to help communities devastated by the coronavirus pandemic  signed by President Trump on March 27, according to an announcement from Congressman Chris Smith.
