Patrick Short , former Middletown Township Committeeman
The races for State offices this year are going to be exciting and I can’t wait for the truths, half-truths, or no truths be told. Who knows how one will vote this year. The water is very rough. One side remains angry. The other side who hung too close to Christie’s coat tail is very vulnerable.
To get my vote:

Michael A. Katz
Michael A. Katz, a 45 year old live long resident of Middletown, has thrown his hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination for Middletown Township Committee.
The Middletown Democrats only submitted one candidate for the two seats up this year. The candidate who gets the most write-in votes in the primary tomorrow will likely join William E. Hutton on the Democratic slate against Republicans Deputy Mayor Stephanie Murray and Committeeman Tony Fiore.
Katz launched his campaign last week after MMM reported the vacancy and suggested that Democrats write-in Michael Morris. Katz said he thinks he has as many as 50 write-in votes so far. 26 is the minimum required to get on the general election ballot. If no candidate gets 26 write-in votes, only Hutton will appear on the ballot for the Democrats in November.

Congressman Frank Pallone and Michael “Middletown Mike” Morris
Middletown Democrats who are examining their sample ballots in preparation of voting in the primary on Tuesday, June 6 will notice that only one candidate, William E. Hutton, is on the ballot for two seats on the Township Committee. This has led to a flurry of activity of potential candidates trying to get the twenty-six write-in votes necessary to qualify to be on the ballot in November.
As good a job as Republicans Deputy Mayor Stephanie Murray and Committeeman Tony Fiore are doing for the people of Middletown, it is just un-American to let Murray or Fiore go unchallenged for another term.
For over 10 years, Michael Morris, aka Middletown Mike, has been preaching that “Truth, Justice and the American Way is possible all at once here in Middletown, the Bayshore and the great State of New Jersey. Read the rest of this entry »

Lillian G. Burry
Monmouth County Freeholder Director Lillian Burry is running for a fifth term on the board.
Burry is completing her perhaps most accomplished term on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. Her work was instrumental in the acquisition of Fort Monmouth from the federal government.
While working through her decision to seek reelection or enjoy a well earned retirement, the Director told MMM that she loves doing the job, but did not relish another campaign or possible nominating convention challenge. She told MMM yesterday that Freeholder Gary Rich’s decision not to seek reelection was the deciding factor in her choice to soldier on. “I feel strongly about the need for continuity on the Board,” Burry said. “With Gary stepping down and with Serena (DiMaso) likely moving on to the the State Assembly in January, there could have been three new freeholders next year.”
