Pezzullo Says He Will Support Hugin For U.S. Senate

Bob Hugin and Rich Pezzullo

Rich Pezzullo declared that he would suspend his candidacy for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate if Bob Hugin, the recently retired Executive Chairman of Celgene Corporation becomes a candidate.

Speaking to several hundred Monmouth County Republicans at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner, Pezzullo, of Freehold, said, ” I actually like the guy and trust him to advance our agenda vigorously and fearlessly. I encourage him to quit waffling and get into the race.”

“Bob is knowledgeable about the issues facing us and has a commitment to service that carried him as a Marine to missions on distant shores, as a banker to stoke the engines of our economy and as a leader in biotechnology who took action to save lives and bring miraculous treatments to families around the world.  I actually like the guy. I know why he earned all the promotions is his life. – He gets the job done.

So here we are – staring at a chance to take down Bob Menendez and elect a Republican for the first time in generations.

“I will have no part in tearing down our best chance to defeat Bob Menendez”

“My objective is to defeat Bob Menendez, Pezzullo said in a phone interview with MMM.  “I don’t have to be the tip of the spear.  An expensive primary where will exploit our candidates’ weaknesses would be counterproductive, especially this year when we’re looking to unseat  flawed incumbent like Menendez.”

Hugin retired from is position of Executive Chairman of Celgene, a Summit, NJ based global biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery and development of innovative therapies for the treatment of cancer and immune-inflammatory related diseases, on February 5.   He attended the Lincoln Day Dinner accompanied by former Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno.  He is expected to declare his candidacy for U.S. Senate within the next few weeks.

Is this guy serious? Aside from vigorously getting one more vote than the Dems, what is the “winning” agenda?

NEWS FLASH..MENENDEZ WINS BY DOUBLE DIGITS!

Hugins is one of the greatest CEOs in the world and Celgene not only changed the face of medicine wit life saving drugs like Revlimid that work inside our immune systems. NJ is is sick and broken and maybe it is time to elect a healer like Hugins.
Hey “NO CHANCE”. Please ask Senators Booker and Menendez if it wouldn’t have been better for NJ for them to vote YES on the budget along with 34 democrat colleagues who voted Yes including: Senator Blumenthal of Ct, Senator Murphy of CT, Senator Schumer of NY, Senator Durbin of Illinois, Senators Cardin and Van Hollen of Maryland, Senators Carper and Coons of Delaware. Even Senators Warner and Kaine of Virginia voted YES along with many Rs and with the support of President Trump. In what possible way can the NO votes of Senators Booker and Menendez help NJ?

Hay Mike Harmon, another NEWS FLASH, NEW JERSEY IS A DEEP BLUE STATE.

If the meaning behind the presents of Murphy and his growing numbers of Trenton flunkyocrat’s isn’t apparent to you yet, wait till you see what happened in Nov 2018.

Admit it. Trump had a small base in NJ. Since being PotUS, most Unaffiliated voters have been pushed further away from supporting Republican agendas. It is now statistically impossible to secure enough statewide votes to secure Republican US Senate victory. Look what happened with your former Lt Gov.

Trump fallout in NJ will result in a serious blood letting for Republicans.

our last governor Mr. Christie, and a very weak GOP for eight long, ego- driven years, that have had a far more devastating effect on this state than the man who tried very hard to invest in NJ multiple times- with little cooperation from those in charge-and who still employs many people and pays a ton of taxes here. And he wouldn’t have a small vase in NJ if the RINOS who refused and still refuse to support him got with the program. But they won’t, so, solid Blue we stay

  5. Any serious” blood- letting” said at 1:10 am on February 12th, 2018:

that may take place, is the continuous self- inflicted wounds of the NJGOP!

  6. Mike Harmon said at 9:59 am on February 12th, 2018:

No Chance… well I understand the demographics and odds. What I am confused about is whether you support and enjoy the NJ trend of blue, bluer, bluest state in the country (WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT EVEN WHEN Ds are running things) .
Our Democrat Senators don’t know how to benefit their own constituents. I would take a Jim Howard any day of the week over these guys.

to be a Dem these days, and they don’t even know it. Their party has gone so far left that they are almost irretrievable, at this point. All the more reason to keep fighting their socialist, crybaby, victimhood, and divisive vote- grabbing ways!

  8. NoChance2018 said at 12:37 pm on February 12th, 2018:

Let’s get back to the question at hand please.

Again, aside from “vigorously” getting one more vote than the Dems, what is the “winning” agenda?

It comes down doing simple math.

Erotion of base support continues to worsen every day. Voter support from Nov 2017 through Nov 2018 gets embarrassingly weaker.

Blaming “Rhinos” is an excuse from stark reality. We need a uniting spirited candidate. A departure from decisive, dividing bickering. No erest uniting effort exists, and the national brand at this point in time is a grotesque farce.

Time to fess-up and take ownership of the mistake in the white house. Fix the problem, starting with dismantling the Ministry of Public Enlightenment.

Openminds win election. Start by a willingness to work together in a big tent. That’s what has proven, time and time again that this is the job of winning elections gets done.

We need a PotUS at the top not a bad PT Barnum shill who historical, had generously funded the political campaigns of the D’s who’s “patriotism” he now questions. A duplicitous con-man.

2 takebacks. First, fudging the math is ostrich logic for the deer frozen in the headlights of a speeding loco-motive. Second, almost always trainwreck’s causes casualties.

  9. Gosh, said at 5:09 pm on February 12th, 2018:

I always thought that keeping our country safe, taking care of our veterans, appointing conservative judges, protecting our borders as a sovereign nation, stopping the ongoing and outrageous abuse of social service programs, giving tax cuts which result in more money in the hands of workers, respecting our flag, religious freedoms, one- person- one- vote protections, improving our infrastructure, attacking the drug addiction epidemic, and honoring our hard/ fought freedoms and personal liberties and property rights, were good things!! I thank God every day He gave us one last chance to save the most prosperous, kind, generous and wonderful nation on earth, one more shot at salvation. You don’t like the guy, suck it up: so many things have gotten better, in just one year, despite the most coordinated and sick personal attack machine ever imposed on a leader! And, if it is so bad here, you can always, surely, just leave!

  10. Golly, said at 8:07 pm on February 12th, 2018:

how I wish you could specifically list the plethora of things that have gotten better in the last year.

  11. Just did. said at 7:21 am on February 13th, 2018:

In other words, everything is already better than what the last eight years gave us!

  12. Just said at 3:42 pm on February 15th, 2018:

as I thought. I hear very many counties south of Virginia are looking for residents, perhaps you should give it a thought! They even teach The Immaculate Conception in public schools in certain districts beginning in North Carolina! Good luck bud…
