Christie to mark one year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy

Governor Chris Christie will spend tomorrow, the one year anniversary date of Superstorm Sandy destroying much of New Jersey’s coastal and inland waterway communities, traveling the state to honor residents, first responders and volunteers for their strength and resiliency over the past year, as well as to highlight the significant strides New Jersesyans have made in recovering from the historic storm.

In Monmouth County, Christie will make stops in Union Beach, Belmar and Sea Bright.

During his first Monmouth County visit at 2:30 PM, Christie will be accompanied by First Lady Mary Pat Christie to visit the Ciangiotta residence at 46 Scholer Dr., one of over 100 homes that have been or are being rebuilt by volunteers from Gateway Church of Christ, with funding from the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund that Mrs. Christie leads and other charities.  Pastor Carl Williamson declined to say what is on the agenda for the Union Beach visit other than greeting residents and volunteers.  Mayor Paul Smith said that Mrs. Christie’s charity has already contributed $1.5 million to recovering Union Beach residents and that more contributions are expected.

At 4PM, Christie is scheduled to meet and greet students and community members at St. Rose High School in Belmar.  The school was “hammered” by Sandy, according to Mayor Matt Doherty who said the school was filled with fish and turtles after the storm.  “The Governor’s visit to Belmar is an indication of his commitment to the Jersey Shore’s recovery,” Doherty said.

At 7:30PM, the Governor will attend a potluck dinner and bonfire at the Sea Bright Fire House, followed by a meet and greet with patrons of Angelica’s Restaurant, which is opposite the firehouse on Ocean Ave, at 8:30.

Christie will also be making stops in Bergen, Essex, Middlesex and Ocean Counties throughout the day.

Bizarre twists in accusations against DiSomma

The story of the alleged arrest warrant, for a traffic violation, out of Dallas for Red Bank Republican Council candidate Sean DiSomma took bizarre twist and turns on Friday as Dallas officials confirmed to MMM and RedBankGreen, early in the day, that there had never been a warrant on DiSomma. Late Friday, a Dallas official told RedBankGreen that DiSomma was in “capias warrant status” and the Dallas Court website was updated to reflect that status. The official told RBG that the warrant was issued because DiSomma’s 2011 check paying his traffic violation fine bounced one year after it had been submitted, which would have been in January or February of 2012.

Monmouth Democratic Chairman Vin Gopal released an audio clip produced on Friday, purported to be a recording on the Dallas Court’s automated response system indicating that there was an “alias warrant” issued for DiSomma.

DiSomma, who provided documentation showing he paid his fines on Thursday evening, hours after he was made aware of the situation by members of the press following up on Gopal’s accusations, said the he was caught up in a “bureaucratic nightmare” with the Dallas Courts and that he was being defamed by the Monmouth Democrats.

Additional Confirmation: No Warrant For DiSomma

A Dallas Municipal Court employee told MoreMonmouthMusings this morning that there has never been a warrant issued for the arrest of Sean DiSomma, the Red Bank Republican council candidate, who was defamed by the Monmouth County Democrats, The Asbury Park Press and NJ.com yesterday.

NJ.com updated their headline to include the word “accused” this morning, but has not lifted a finger to verify the accusation, nor have they referenced MMM’s story that disproved the allegation that a warrant for DiSomma’s arrest is outstanding or had ever been issued.  MMM has previously been cited by NJ.com and The Star Ledger on several stories.  They can’t honestly claim that they don’t consider this little blog a reliable news outlet.

APP reporter Larry Higgs has not responded to numerous messages via twitter, public and private, asking if he personally confirmed a warrant with the Dallas municipal court.

Such a confirmation would be impossible, because there was never a warrant.

Monmouth County Dems Falsely Allege That Red Bank Council Candidate Sean DiSomma Has Warrant Out His For Arrest

Asbury Park Press and NJ.com get the story wrong with lazy, reckless reporting

Contrary to reports in the Asbury Park Press and on NJ.com, MoreMonmouthMusings has confirmed that there in NO WARRANT for the arrest of Red Bank Republican Council candidate Sean DiSomma.

MMM was able to confirm this information during about a half hour of investigating.  The Asbury Park Press and NJ.com apparently took Vin Gopal’s word and the documentation he supplied as sufficient evidence before writing reckless and inaccurate stories about DiSomma.

Measley: Pallone’s “Monkey Court” Rant Was A Fundraising Stunt

You probably saw the video of Congressman Frank Pallone ranting and raving like a lunatic at a House hearing this morning regarding the Affordable Care Act (a bill that he was the mastermind of) and the security of the private information of those enrolling.

I believe the whole incident was staged and this is why. Pallone recently had a failed bid for the Democratic primary regarding the open U.S. Senate seat here in New Jersey. For years Pallone has planned and dreamed of becoming a United States Senator During that time he built up a substantial warchest of about $4 million. When he announced his bid for United States Senate he transferred the majority of that money into his senatorial account.

Unfortunately for Pallone the battle was much more intense then he thought. After receiving a devastating blow from now US Sen. Cory Booker, Congressman Frank Pallone only has one fourth of his once mighty warchest left. Compared to his other challenger Congressman Rush Holt who walked away with a net gain.
