Monmouth Dems Embrace The Rain Water Tax Champion

rain-tax-mmm-sm_We’re three weeks before Election Day and the only policy proposal that the Monmouth County Democratic candidates for County office have made is Surrogate candidate Vincent Solomeno’s pledge to blatantly break the law with regard to the access to death certificates.

Maybe that’s because they know if they reveal plans to impose a rain water tax on Monmouth County property owners, Lawless Matt Doherty and Sketchy Sue Fulton know that they would even lose in Democrat strongholds like Neptune Township and Long Branch.

Freeholder DiMaso DID NOT Get Health Benefits From The County

DiMaso’s premiums exceed her claims by $36K

Deputy Freeholder Director Serena DiMaso

Deputy Freeholder Director Serena DiMaso

Contrary to nonsense being spread by the Monmouth County Democrats and the The Asbury Park Press,  Deputy Freeholder Director Serena DiMaso, a Republican, did not receive health benefits as compensation for being a Freeholder from 20012 through 2015.  Neither DiMaso nor Monmouth County violated Freeholder resolutions passed in 2009 and 2010 prohibiting the county from providing health benefits to freeholders. DiMaso’s participation in Monmouth County’s health care plan did not cost the taxpayers of the county any money.

Proof of comet impact found at Jersey Shore, researchers say

assetcontentA team of American researchers believes they found evidence of a comet that slammed into the Earth about 10 million years after the dinosaurs went extinct — at the Jersey Shore. The impact would have created a period with the closest climate to our current man-made global warming, scientists say. In a paper published in “Science… Read the rest of this entry »

A new low for Christie

Governor Chris Christie and Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty

Governor Chris Christie and Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty

Governor Chris Christie’s job approval and  favorability ratings hit a new low in a FDU Public Mind Poll released this morning.

Only 21% of New Jersey’s registered voters approved on the governor’s job performance and only 29% of those voters have a favorable opinion of him, according to the poll.  A majority of Republicans, 52%, disapprove of Christie’s performance.  90% of Democrats and 68% of Independents also disapprove.

“Apparently we’ve not yet found the floor for the governor’s approval among voters in the state. The recent gas tax increase that the governor supported no doubt caused some in his party to turn against him, even though he sought to reduce taxes in other areas in order to offset the increase at the pump,” said Krista Jenkins, professor of political science and director of PublicMind.

Musings of a Values Voter, 2016

It is our character that supports the promise of our future – far more than particular government programs or policies.  – William Bennett

Tommy DeSeno1By Tommy DeSeno

There were those of us, the values voters, who stood by stunned when the bar for personal conduct, vulgarity, sexual assault, law and American values was lowered by those who refused to remove Bill Clinton from office in 1998. We were told we were prudish, imposing religious values and should mind our own business by staying out of Clinton’s “private life.” That side won the culture war. My side lost the culture war. They may now reap what they have sown, and what they have sown is an acceptance of Donald Trump. This linguistic monster, whose polyglot range is a very limited dirty to deriding, was created by those who stood with Bill Clinton, who made the coarsening of American discourse official.  They’ll never admit it. The left is married only to the moment with no view of history or legacy.
