ObamaUS President Barack Obama has long been accused of being a secret Muslim, but a recent CNN poll found that a handful of Americans believe Obama is actually a Jew. According to the poll, Mashable reported on Saturday, close to one in three Americans think Obama is Muslim, while one in a hundred believe he’s Jewish.…

This says a lot more about the lack of engagement (intelligence?) of some voters, than it says about the President’s religion!

  2. Sancho Panza said at 4:07 pm on September 21st, 2015:

There is just one way to disprove that convincingly.

  3. Tommy De Seno said at 10:49 am on September 22nd, 2015:

Barack Obama has never publically stated to what religion he belongs.

  4. Proud Republican said at 2:02 pm on September 22nd, 2015:

Obama was raised a Muslim and only began attending a Christian church at the urging of his wife because she thought it would be beneficial for his political career. His deference toward Muslims and disrespect of Israel and Christianity is further proof of his religion.

  5. Bob English said at 11:29 pm on September 22nd, 2015:

Since Obama has been elected POTUS 2x by comfortable margins, its rather amusing to still hear a few 2016 crazy Republican candidates questioning what his religion is rahter than focusing on why people should vote for them. Its a good reason for voters to think they are “Nutland”.

Regarding comments above, Obama has affirmed in interviews that he is a Christian. Also note that the story floated by some nut at the Christian Broadcast newtwork that Obama was raised as a Muslim was long ago debunked.

Bob English – I know you are an Obama apologist supreme, but do you remember in an ABC interview where Obama stated and I quote, “my Muslim faith” only to have the diminutive tool George Stephanopoulos step in to remind him to stick to the script and say “my Christian faith?” That moment when he let his guard down showed us all who he really is. Hence the coddling of Islam and his hatred of Judaism and Christianity.

  7. MJ said at 10:05 am on September 23rd, 2015:

There has not been a single 2016 Republican presidential candidate who has stated that Barrack Obama is Muslim (not that it matters, anyway.)

To declare otherwise is a flat out lie.

It was Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign (admitted to long ago) which circulated the anonymous email insinuating that candidate Obama was lying about his faith.

Obama himself, doesn’t appear to adhere strongly to any religion. He’s probably an agnostic at heart, but found it helpful to his political career to declare himself Christian. Who cares.

By allowing his religion to be viewed somewhat ambiguously, he gains the added plus of giving any religious-minded individual the ability to claim him as their own, which in turn creates the illusion of relatedness. It is a staggeringly effective strategy against those detractors who might make the mistake of questioning his faith, in a negative manner, in the public arena.

Hell, even the Atheists claim Obama as one of their own.

Today he’s buddies with the Catholic Pope.
He’s anything you want him to be, depending on what is expedient to him at the moment.
    He’s a politician.

And as a final thought on the matter, this is a silly, stupid conversation. The point is moot one way or the other. He got elected. Twice.

so many strange nuances to this person, who managed, with lots of help, to fool the nation he set out to destroy.. am to the point of not even caring any more about who/ what the guy really is, and just trying to get past and figure out how anyone can begin to un-do all the damage that has really been “fundamentally” done to the very fabric of this nation, by him and this bunch of America- haters. It was pretty chilling to recently hear on Hannity, the montage of some of his own quotes since 2007,when he began running: the one that stuck with me,had to do with his saying the most beautiful sound in the world is the “evening call to prayer..” You can take from that whatever you want, but, suffice it to say, we are often clouded by what we WANT to hear, as opposed to what they may really have meant!

  9. MJ said at 1:35 pm on September 23rd, 2015:

The anonymous email circulated by Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign, insinuated that candidate Barrack Obama was lying about being a Christian and was in fact a Muslim. That email was ugly and awful. It hinted that there was something wrong with being Muslim, and was designed to play off anti-Muslim sentiments within the Democrat Party itself. It was a Machiavellian attempt to covertly discredit Obama before the Democrats’ held their presidential primary.

They both used dirty tactics during that election cycle, but circulating THAT email, was truly a low and ugly point for Hillary Clinton. For all intents and purposes, her 2008 campaign is the source of the rumors and gossip that still come up today. Obama does little to tamp this down. He’s well aware of just how bad these theories make his naysayers look.

Hillary’s horrid email being the ugly exception and thankfully not the rule,
there IS some legitimacy to the idea of being aware of a Presidential Candidate’s religious beliefs, before electing him to office. If he/she is in fact a very religious individual, his personal, internalized moral beliefs would certainly inform any decisions he/she might make as a world leader. To what degree, depends on the individual.

If he/she is NOT of a particular religious domination, the same holds true. His/her personal, internalized “moral compass” would still hold sway. That goes without saying. So, there is importance to knowing what the value system of ANY given candidate may suggest. The vetting system is supposed to take care of all that.

In the past few decades, extreme biases have emerged in the American press (the vehicle that drives the vetting process) which undermine the established system. A savvy politician can now use that same vetting system to show only what he/she wants to show, to each target, in order to get that target to believe whatever they want them to believe. At the same time, that savvy politician can quickly define the opposition candidate in a negative way that will undermine anything the opposition may say or do to reveal who they really are themselves, and who they intend to be as a leader.

It’s ugly. It’s disturbing. It doesn’t help us find the best leadership, and it’s had a decidedly negative impact on the country as a whole.

I’m sick of the whole thing.
And, I don’t give a rat’s *ss as to what Obama’s religion is or even if he’s got one at all. He’s been a lousy president and during his tenure, has managed to shift the whole of global reality into a vacuum, replacing it with insane little pockets of chaos.

I, too, would like to just move on. It’s time to find someone who can unravel this mess.

  10. Proud Republican said at 7:23 pm on September 23rd, 2015:

you should care what religion Obama is MJ. We are locked in a blood war with Islam for our very survival. The fact that a president would be sympathetic towards the biggest threat our lifetime is something that should weigh on everyone’s mind.

  11. Well said, said at 9:52 pm on September 23rd, 2015:

Proud! We have a lot to be concerned with- this Pope’s visit is scary, in that he is using the man to further his agenda, yet again- we are so done..

  12. Bob English said at 11:05 pm on September 23rd, 2015:

“My Muslim Faith” has been taken out of context by those who think they are providing a point…http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslimfaith.asp

Would also note that if you pull out your pocket copy of the Constitution you will note that there is no religious litmus test when it comes to holding elective office in the United States of America…..thought that kind of nonsense ended with JFK’s speech to ministers in 1963.

I would hope that none of the haters have a problem with men and women in the US Armed Forces that are of the Muslim faith….same goes for police/firemen/ women and teachers.

  13. Bob English said at 11:34 pm on September 23rd, 2015:

I will correct one statement from my earlier post. All major Republican presidential candidates (with one exception) are more or less saying that they believe the current POTUS is a Christian and was born in the United States. The one exception is the King of the Birthers himself…Donald Trump who was the chief birther loon 2-3 years ago. No wonder that some of the nuts that buy into his nonsense show up at his rallies.

Cant wait until he is asked in a debate about “all of the unbelievable things my investigators in Hawaii are finding out”…

  14. Proud Republican said at 10:45 am on September 24th, 2015:

you know what Bob you can’t blame anyone for questioning anything Obama says. A person does not spend over a million dollars sealing all of his personal records unless he has something to hide. There’s a reason he doesn’t want people to see his college transcripts or his draft information. if he wasn’t born in this country or claims he wasn’t to get a break on tuition it will come out maybe after he’s out of office.

  15. Ahem, (cough) excuse me, but said at 11:05 am on September 24th, 2015:

    Trump’s not a Republican.

He’s a left leaning individual who is playing at being Republican. He’d be running as a Democrat, if the Dems were foolish enough to have him.

    They aren’t.

Instead, they’ve got Bernie Sanders filling their dance card at this year’s full moon ball.

try and get past the hackneyed ,8-year-old arguments which don’t help us get past our problems which, to the thinking of more and more Americans, have gotten worse, not better, during this administration.. the field will narrow for various reasons, and I,for one, will oay strict attention and (again)support to the end, the one who appears to have the most steady, Conservative, and best values, and guts, to try and begin to get us back to our founding principles and the Constitution, which made us the greatest nation on earth.
