New Corruption Allegations Made Against Curley

Realty Data Systems, LLC, the property inspection company that in April accused disgraced Freeholder John P.Curley of corruption and official misconduct, said they became aware of new evidence of Curley’s malfeasance this month.

Michael Panter, one of RDS’s founders and owners acting as the company’s in-house lawyer, made the new allegations against Curley in a Notice of Claims filed with Monmouth County Counsel Michael Fitzgerald and County Administrator Teri O’Connor on Thursday October 25.  The notice includes a draft lawsuit against the County of Monmouth as Curley’s employer.

Curley is accused of Civil Conspiracy, Negligence, Tortious Interference with a Contract and Tortious Interference of Prospective Economic Advantage.

RDS claims that Curley, along with Monmouth County Tax Board Commissioner Wayne Pomanowski and a yet to be named attorney, conspired to deceive the public for the economic benefit of the attorney and the political and economic gain of Curley.

The “anonymous” letter alleging corruption within the ADP pilot program which modernized they way New Jersey homes are valued for property tax purposes that Curley distributed in 2015 and 2016 was actually written by the “John Doe” attorney. The attorney’s tax appeal revenue dropped off by 70% due to the ADP program.  Curley is accused of knowing the identity of the letter’s author when he represented it as anonymous and distributed it to the Asbury Park Press, More Monmouth Musings and the Monmouth County Prosecutor.

Curley and Pomanowski are accused to putting pressure on municipal officials, clients and prospective clients of RDS, to withdraw from the ADP program.

RDS claims that Curley’s dishonesty in this matter has already cost Monmouth County taxpayers over $1 million.  RDS losses were listed as at least $230,000 is lost revenue, in addition to unspecified expenses incurred to fight off the damage done by the false allegations.

Curley became aware of RDS’s claim on Thursday, October 25.  He has not responded to request for comment.

Pomanowski is accused of emailing municipal officials, clients and prospective clients of RDS, at Curley’s direction, on August 10, 2016, encouraging them to “DO NOT BECOME A SPOKESMAN FOR THE [ADP] TAX PROGRAM”, and stating that if an individual did so, he would “expose himself to the rage of Freeholder Curley.” These emails further advised the municipal official that “being proactive versus Reactive will stir controversy with out [sic] Freeholder” and “DO NOT GET INTO THE PLUSES AND MINUSES OF THE ADP. heed my advice.”

Pomanowski told MMM he did not recall sending such emails and could not locate such emails in his archives.  He said, “John Curley does not tell me what to do.  Never has and never will.”  Pomanowski further stated that he was a supporter of the ADP program.

  1. Here we go again said at 6:49 am on October 29th, 2018:

The fact that John Curley continues to run for reelection and not step down from his position as freeholder proves he is no corruption fighter, and has no consideration for the taxpayers. This guy is an embarrassment and now it looks like the taxpayers will be on the hook for another couple of million thanks to this Looney tune. What a disappointment

  2. Disappointed said at 9:30 am on October 29th, 2018:

To see Pomanowski’s name here but also knew he was sticking with Curley when I saw his name connected with a fundraiser for Curley.

  3. Marlboro Male said at 11:29 am on October 29th, 2018:

It has always been and always will be about John to him. It is outrageous that John’s behavior has cost the taxpayers millions to build this phony image he is trying to portray. All he cares about is getting his name in the paper and getting a quote. I feel sorry for the dwindling number of supporters that he has that they are so gullible and thick-headed they don’t see what this guy is all about. The numbers speak for themselves. He has cost us millions and if we don’t get rid of him next week he will continue to cost us millions.

  4. Apparently, Wayne and John said at 7:16 pm on October 29th, 2018:

went to school together, and Wayne tries to be loyal/ helpful to friends. What some don’t realize is, there have been times over the years, when John has used friends/employees to make his point, sometimes dragging them into his messes, to try and make it seem like it isn’t just himself trying to score points/ headlines/votes. One could call that selfish, volatile, or whatever: time for John to bow out, and take better care of himself, going forward…

  5. Hardcore John said at 8:31 am on October 30th, 2018:

supporters – this is for both of you. Not only has John screwed the taxpayers over and over again by costing them millions in phony investigations and lawsuits, but the guy can’t get along with anyone to get anything done! Everything he takes credit for was the result of someone else’s work. That is a fact. The quicker he is off the Freeholder board the better off Monmouth County will be. Vote column 2 right down the line

  6. Curley's Signs said at 8:49 am on October 30th, 2018:

What few there are, it’s amazing to see he has the gall to have the words “corruption fighter” on them.

The signs really should say “corrupt”

  7. Remember said at 5:08 pm on October 30th, 2018:

A vote for John Curley is a vote for the Democrats

  8. Just go away already. said at 7:25 pm on October 31st, 2018:

    Ugh.
This guy just keeps dirtying up all the air in Monmouth County.

    Go away now, John-Man/Boy Curley.

Go spend some much needed time learning how to treat women with dignity and respect.
