The Monmouth County Republican Committee is holding a convention tonight, March 15, VFW Post 2179 on Rt 36 in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown.  The purpose of the convention is to endorse candidates for the United States Senate and for the House of Representatives in the 6th Congressional District.

Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone, Deputy Director Lillian Burry, and Freeholders Patrick Impreveduto and Gerry Scharfenberger issued the following joint statement endorsing Bob Hugin for the Republican nomination to represent New Jersey in the United States Senate:

“Bob Hugin has led an extraordinary life of service and accomplishment. As a Marine, a businessman, philanthropist and family man, Bob has been an outstanding, yet humble, leader. New Jersey is fortunate that a man like Bob is willing to step forward and both serve and put up with the rough and tumble of electoral politics.

“As leaders in Monmouth County and the Republican Party, we proudly endorse Bob Hugin for the nomination for U.S, Senate.  We urge the Monmouth Republican County Committee to endorse Mr. Hugin at our convention on Thursday evening, March 15 in Middletown and we urge all Monmouth County Republicans to vote for him in the primary on June 5th”

You know what walks. Now we have voting machines. Have to unite. Menendez does NOT deserve re- election, period. Another frightening year looms ahead.

Finally we have a candidate who can really mount a serious campaign against the biggest sleazebag in the Senate. Between Menendez being badly damaged and Murphy’s free fall by November, Bob Hugin has a real chance to pull off an upset.
