Memorial Service for U.S. Marine Crewmaster Daniel Baldassare

A memorial service to honor the life of U.S. Marine Crewmaster Daniel Baldassare will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at Colts Neck High School.  The service will start at 11 a.m.  The Baldassare family has invited all to attend.

Volunteers are requested on Monday, July 24 at 6 p.m. to bring American flags to line the football field.  On Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., volunteers are asked to bring a flag a form a line of honor from 5 Points Road to the football field for the Baldassare family’s entrance to the funeral.

Daniel, 20, was one of the 16 U.S. servicemen killed on July 10 when a KC-130 refueling plane crashed in a Mississippi cornfield.  15 U.S Marines and a Navy sailor perished in the accident.

A 2015 graduate of Colts Neck High School, Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp during his senior year.  He graduated from boot camp at Parris Island in December of 2015.  During his service, he was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
