Little reports $52K in cash, $96K in debt
Anna Little’s 6th district congressional campaign reported $52,151 cash on hand and $96,366 in debt to the Federal Election Commission through the quarter than ended September 30th.
The campaign reported that it raised $203,573 and spent $156,155 in the quarter. Of the $203,573 raised, only $33,689 was itemized by donor. Most of the donors disclosed were from outside of New Jersey. The required employer information is missing for many.
Little’s second quarter report indicated a negative cash balance of over $11,000. The third quarter report, which was filed electronically on October 14, indicates that the campaign had a beginning cash balance of $4,734.
Little was criticized by the FEC in August for failing to disclose donor information, for math that doesn’t add up or jibe between reports and for reporting a negative cash balance but no debt. She was required to amend her three prior reports by October 4th. The prior reports were not amended and the violations apparently continue in the current report.
Of the $156,155 Little said she spent, $2,250 was paid to Constantine Financial Services of Oaktan, VA for compliance consulting. $1,800 was paid to Chris Walen, CPA of Matawan, NJ for accounting services. Rick Trader of Deptford, NJ was paid $1950 for conservative commando radio and Jayson Solino of Ocean, NJ was paid $4000 for a website. Little’s website is linked to a free blogspot site that hosts her press releases.
Other reported expenditures include $1748 paid to Lakeside Manor in Hazlet, NJ for lodging. Lakeside Manor, a catering hall, does not have lodging rooms.
Little is making her second attempt to unseat Congressman Frank Pallone. Pallone is seeking his 13th term in the House of Representatives. For the quarter ended September 30, Pallone raised $1.6 million and spent $1.3 million in campaign funds. He has $3.5 million cash on hand.

Fact check, I did. The whole Cullari/Little thing was confusing to me. I asked around and this is what I was told, from sources that told me they know “first hand” as Middlesex and from a Monmouth screening committee attendee. First, Joe Oxley and Sam Thompson were the Chairs at the time. Bennett was no factor in this whole thing. VERY shortly before the screening there was NO individual seeking the CD 6 Republican nomination. Anna Little site at that time was “Anna Little for Senate” and she had not announced she wanted to change back. She would have been the only candidate (as flawed as she is) had she just stayed the course on her Election night 2010 announcement that she was continuing to run against Pallone. Sam had no other candidate and actually thought Anna could be a “threat” to Joe Kyrillos —he “made the deal” to support her if she agreed to not seek the US Senate nomination. Maybe Sam did not know what was well known in Monmouth: “Anna’s Army” no longer existed, the vast majority of the “key people” were not on board any longer, there were existing financial irregularities and no confidence that Anna could raise the funds needed to even try to be competitive. By the screening Oxley was “checked out” with focus on leaving the rat race to become a Judge. Ernesto Cullari “stepped up” when there were NO names out there and because Anna Little had NOT announced that she had changed her mind.

You got most of the story right.
Ernesto declared he’s candidacy prior to Anna dropping her Senate bid and announcing for Congress.
Anna and Ernesto competed for the Monmouth screening committee endorsement. Most people, myself included, expected her to win the endorsement. It was a big surprise when Ernesto emerged with the Monmouth County line for the primary.
Oxley was very much engaged as chairman at that time.
There is no question that Thompson pushed for Anna to win the Middlesex convention in order to keep her from switching back to the Senate primary.
I get the Middlesex part of this (the Kyrillos/Anna/Thompsen deal in the Spring to get Little to drop her Senate bid), but the Monmouth County surprise endorsement of Mr. Cullari still has a bit of mystery in it to me.
Art, you had mentioned that most people expected Anna to get the Monmouth County endorsement. The conspiracy theorist in me would ask if that might have been an intentional smokescreen to make her think she was getting the endorsement and not get back in the Senate race?
That all of the comments presuppose that Anna Little was a “threat” to the Lyrillos nomination.
This is flat out flawed. She was no more threat to Kyrillos than she is to Pallone!
Several people there, at what may be the last “kitchen cabinet” steering committee format, believe it was a hurried patchwork, mostly of folks who may have still been harboring 2010 resentment toward Little, for having the nerve to beat Gooch in 2010’s primary. This left Monmouth with a new and green young man whom no one knew, and who had no time to either get known or raise any money. At least Little has some name id- we all know the redistricting has made Palloney’s life easier, unfortunately.
If you want to repeat the nomination, we should discuss how Romney got his nomination. It would be easier on the eyes to watch sausage being made.
In return for his slaughterhouse tactics, Romney got a chanced to run against an unpopular President and the worst President in the history of America.
I think that it is admirable that Anna would even choose to run against tough odds.
In the new, almost solid, Democratic 6th, Anna has the only tax plan that offers a well studied solution to the wasted $billions in useless paperwork and needless litigation. Pallone has nothing, except to continue wasting and destroying the job structure with tyrannical regulations.
If there is any chance at all in this tough District, Anna has a message that can persuade past Pallone voters that they must take a look at their best economic interests.
I do not know the reason for the claimed FEC reporting problems. But I do know that we must do everything possible to try to overcome the disadvantage of a tough district and underdog campaign money against a fixture with unlimited campaign funds.
Assuming poor FEC filing is true, maybe it is a better strategy to use limited resources to get the message out now and take care of the paperwork after the election?
………..or maybe she keeps “running” to keep the campaign $$$ rolling into her household??? isn’t her husband the “treasurer”??
When you have no visible means of support yet continue to run a “campaign” just doesn’t pass the smell test…………

I’m not going to blame Little for running when almost nobody else would but where where the elected R Assemblymen/women, State Senators, Freeholders, as well as local Mayors and Council people? I know it would not have been an easy race against Pallone but there are a number of them that would certainly have been credible opponents.
Thank you Anna for running your campaign $96,000 in debt. You make things so easy for me to win.
But know what Anna? I really like your singing! As you know I have over $3 million, so because you are my favorite crazy red head I’ll pay you $25,000 to sing to me!
