Freeholder John Curley hires high powered attorney

Freeholder John P. Curley

Monmouth County Freeholder John Curley has hired Angelo Genova, Co-founding partner and Chairman of the powerful law firm GenovaBurns, to represent him in an unspecified matter that Curley apparently wants to keep from becoming public.

Genova sent MMM publisher Art Gallagher the following email at 8:21 p.m. on November 9, 2017:

CEASE AND DESIST DEMAND

Angelo J. Genova
To:you Details

Mr Gallagher : I represent Freeholder John Curley . I am informed that you have in your possession purported information with respect to Mr Curley which we believe, if published by you , will be the basis for a defamation action against you and your publication and others involved in its dissemination . This email demands that you cease and desist from publishing such information and if you choose to ignore this demand we will seek injunctive relief and damages on behalf of Freeholder Curley . Please be guided accordingly . You can have your lawyer contact me directly .Angelo J . Genova

Angelo J. Genova, Esq.

MMM does not know what information Genova is referring to. We hear rumors about public figures frequently that we would never consider publishing without documentation or reliable corroboration.

I must be out of the loop – haven’t heard any rumors – perhaps the Russians are again interfering in our political system – maybe Fusion GPS being paid by some more democrats?

But that email from Frank Vernoia’s old law firm certainly will now set off alarm bells in a mad rush to “find out” or “create” rumors.

    Too much fake news!

Interesting who Angelo Genova has represented in the past – the DNC, Barack Obama’s campaign, Sen. Lautenberg and Sen. Menendez. Guess he is the democrat in the law firm.

I tip my hat to you, Art. I loved the way that you told Curley and his lawyer to kiss your Irish ass. Well played.

Joe, I have some free advice for you: Start sleeping during the day. When those Federal boys come for you—and make no mistake, Joe, they’re coming—they will be coming EARLY in the morning. The Feds like to catch you off-guard, when you are most vulnerable.
They want to catch you naked and asleep in bed with bladder full of piss. There is a method to their madness. Remember, Joe, they have doing this sort of thing a long time. They know what works. Don’t give the bastards the satisfaction. Again, start sleeping during the day. When they find you at 3:30 AM, let them find you well-rested and sitting in a comfortable chair.

I hope it’s not a Harvey Weinstein issue. Or god forbid a Kevin Spacey one!!!!!

Gee, could it be that some “RINOs” don’t like John Curley and want to be like the “never Trumpers” against an independent minded official?

    Just wondering.

Why would someone need a high powered attorney if there was no credibility to whatever is going on? And a democrat…???

  8. Tom Stokes said at 10:00 am on November 14th, 2017:

And why does this posting keep going to the top of the blog? Very interesting! Hmmmmm.

  9. Marpar said at 11:01 am on November 14th, 2017:

My guess would be because an elected official’s behavior is a significant concern for the public. Maybe John has a democratic attorney because he’s going to become a democrat again. I’m surprised the Asbury Park Press hasn’t picked up on this matter yet.
