Frank Rizzuto is Colts Neck Mayor

The Colts Neck Township Committee elected Frank Rizzuto mayor on Saturday during their annual reorganization. Sheriff Shaun Golden issued the Oath of Office.

Rizzuto, 49, is a Captain in the Long Branch Police Department.

He has a bright political future, if he wants one, when he retires from the LBPD. Assuming Colts Neck and Long Branch are still in the same legislative district after redistricting next year, Rizzuto has to be considered a viable Republican challenger to Senator Vin Gopal or Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey in 2021.

Rizzuto should also be considered for Sheriff should Golden move up to higher office.
