Frank Holman elected Ocean GOP Chairman

Ocean GOP Chairman Frank Holman

Frank Holman defeated Frank Sadegi 254 -229 in a special election for Ocean County Republican Chairman, according to sources at the convention in Toms River.

Holman replaces George Gilmore who resigned one week after being convicted by a federal jury for failing to pay his employees payroll taxes and lying on a loan application.

The new chairman was supported the County’s legislative delegation and freeholders.   Sadeghi was supported by Gilmore.

Former Monmouth County GOP Executive Director Tom Szymanski managed Holman’s campaign.  Szymanski had a very good week.  He managed Rob Acerra’s winning campaign in Ocean Township too.

What does this have to do with Monmouth County?

Would you like a refund on your subscription for this month, Theodore?

Nah, I know you need every cent and I’m a yooooge fan of the musings, but why venture into Ocean, I mean your site has a very specific name lol. Why not post movie reviews, ancient family recipes, used car listings, etc? Turn this into Art’s List, MTMGA!

    Ted,

Because Monmouth and Ocean share state legislative districts and congressional districts. But most importantly if Ocean was to fall to the democrats the way Burlington, Somerset and Morris are Monmouth would be the last Red county left. Monmouth and Ocean need to work together and support one another.

Ocean has any chance of going blue you have not lived, worked in, or spent any kind of significant time there. Ocean is by far the reddest county in the state.

Monmouth Girl. The last thing Republicans who are still left in NJ need, is for Ocean to start getting chipped away at, by the evil
doers: a bit concerning their chair’s vote was that close, but hope they will unify and stay strong. Knew the new chair’s dad, who was an excellent state GOP chair, in the days when there was enough in the coffers to fund races and carry at least one legislative house. ( and re-elect the arguably most popular Gov, Tom Kean Sr.. When we needed a fast crowd of 5,000+, we could fill the Morristown green, generate several thousand at the beach in Long Branch for Pres. Bush, or fill a field in Burlington. Have watched with dismay as formerly solid R counties with total or solid governing majorities start electing Dems for the first time in decades, die by internal squabbles or just more money, demographic change, and stronger Dem voter push. It is really at a near all- time low statewide, in GOP representation!
If we don’t care about and support the strength of our close neighbor to the south, we could wind up being squeezed out of influence and importance, and being the “ last man standing” in this crazy state. Not good!
