Former Middletown Township Committeeman To Challenge O’Scanlon in LD 13
InsiderNJ is reporting that former Middletown Township Committeeman Sean Byrnes will run for State Senate in the 13th legislative district.
Byrnes was one of two Democrats to break the Middletown GOP’s hold on the Township Committee in the wake of Operation Bid Rig. He was elected in 2007 and served one term before being defeated by Kevin Settembrino in 2010. Byrnes ran for Monmouth County Freeholder in 2009. He was defeated by John Curley after Vin Gopal paid for a beach plane banner that misspelled ‘freeholder.’

Some Republicans feared that Marlboro Mayor Jon Hornik would be the Democrats’ candidate to replace Senator Joe Kyrillos. MMM has learned that Hornik is not running.
Rumors that Declan O’Scanlon was seen measuring the drapes in Kyrillos’ Route 35 office are unfounded.

A little levity is apparently needed, this cycle!?
Maybe NO BOB WALSH can move to the district and run for the seat too. Now that would be really funny! He can’t spell freeholder either!
did that poor guy ever do to you? Yikes..And, it wouldn’t be the first time somebody moved, in order to run for something: a major one comes to mind is Killary, for NY senate, and, unless she starts using her charming daughter’s Manhattan address, how does she run for NYC mayor?? But I digress..
if we ought to think about going back to the one town, one vote, steering committee m-type of conventions, or, change to some type of electoral college kind of apportioned representation: seriously, with all those votes, how could one beat Middletown County, NJ, when you consider it?? All you need is the four biggest towns these days, and, in essence, it’s the hell with everyone else..
