Last week when we exposed Jeana Sager’s radical views about police officers and narcotics, Monmouth County Democrat Chairman Dave Brown issued the following statement condeming his candidate for Middletown Township Committee (while crediting NewJerseyGlobe with our work).

“The comments made by Jeana Sager shouldn’t be said on camera or behind closed doors, because they are unequivocally wrong. Her false and demeaning assertions do not represent the values of the Monmouth County Democratic Party or the dozens of Democratic candidates trying to better their community across our county. Our Democratic candidates focus their campaigns on fiscal responsibility, supporting law enforcement in their protection of our communities and maintaining Monmouth County’s character and values.  Our Party will not stand for this disgraceful way of thinking, which is why we are refusing all resources to the Sager campaign and formally withdrawing the endorsement of the Monmouth County Democrats.  Let it be a clear message: The Monmouth County Democratic Party will not stand for this disgraceful behavior now or in the future.”

Good for Chairman Brown.  Now he can prove that he meant it.  Does the Monmouth County Democratic Party really support law enforcement?  Are Brown’s candidates really committed to maintaining Monmouth County’s character and values?

Monmouth County Democrat Freeholder Candidate Moira Nelson has some pretty radical views of law enforcement.  Sager calls cops criminals.  Nelson says cops are trigger happy racist slave masters who don’t belong in our schools.


Nelson even called State Senator Ronald Rice, an African American from Essex County, and a former police officer, a racist because he opposes the legalization of recreational marijuana.

We have A LOT more of Nelson’s radical social media history on file. These tidbits should be enough for Brown to withdraw his support of Nelson. If not, MMM’s content through November 5 with be very edifying and easy to write.

We don’t care if Brown credits NewJerseyGlobe,  InsiderNJ, or Middletown Mike with our work, so long as he runs candidates who truly focus “on fiscal responsibility, supporting law enforcement in their protection of our communities and maintaining Monmouth County’s character and values” and don’t “have to be careful about what they say in order to get elected,” to quote Jeana Sager.

We didn’t call Brown for comment because he hasn’t returned a call in two years and he pretends MMM does not exist.

    Boy, you sure like to make things up. Nothing that Moira Nelson said even approaches the conclusions that you’ve come to. But then again, it seems like you only attack Democratic candidates and you keep the the kid gloves on for the Republican ones. Why is that?

    In case you missed this story about republican malfeasance , thought I’d share it with you. The former mayor of Marlboro, Scannapieco has been sent to prison twice for two very different crimes. He initially pleaded guilty in federal court in 2005 to tax evasion and accepting $245,000 in bribes to help win planning board approvals for six development projects. Gov. Chris Christie, then U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, called Scannapieco one of the most glaring examples of public corruption because of the way the bribes changed the landscape of one of New Jersey’s fastest growing municipalities.

    Scannapieco, a Republican who served as mayor of Marlboro from 1992 to 2003 was sentenced to 21 months in prison after helping authorities in corruption probes in Monmouth County.
    He was released from prison in March of 2010, but ended up back behind bars in 2015 after pleading guilty to raping a child in Delaware. Funny how you somehow missed that story.

    that Vin and Co. decided to basically leave the county alone this year, by fielding lightweights.. let’s make it a sweep however, by redoubling our contributions and elbow grease, and take back LD 11 with Amoroso and Woolley.

    The democrats go out and search for canidates and prop them out to disrupt, and in some cases rightly so, the republican lead government. I feel people should come to their own decision to run for office. I also know that comments like these are hurting law enforcement and making a climate where officiers are disrespected. Just look at the cop shooting, the water being poured on them, etc. Yes, of course there are racist people, in every job. But to brush with a broad bush and feed the hate machine is unconcionable. Also, I believe it was a stretch with the headline, based on the comments. But the comments were hurtful. I wonder if she took them down. Or stands by them.

    Moira Nelson is practicing “Becky Knows Best”, i. e., privileged white social justice warriors claiming to know what is good for communities of color better than people of those communities themselves.
    Her assertion that modern policing evolved out of the slave patrols from days of old illustrates either a blistering ignorance of history, or a cynical use of propaganda to bolster her extreme agenda. If elected as a freeholder, how would she implement this? Privatize the jail (like Flippy D’Amico wanted) or close it entirely? Defund the Sheriff and Prosecutor? Rewire the 911 Center so that Antifa responds to all emergency calls? Every reasonable person wants to root out and prosecute bad cops, but “Becky’s” views are so extreme that she would be of no help.
    Senator Rice may be to “Becky” Nelson’s political right, but that doesn’t make him a “mansplainer” or a racist, it just makes him a State Senator. Maybe she should have stayed in Essex County and primaried him if she feels so strongly about it.

    what you said.. and, why would anybody bother to follow, then trash, a person who makes exchanges of local news and ideas possible??? -Back to the main point- each year has become a tougher battle, to keep out those elements who move down here to get away from all the foibles and expense of the insane northern counties, then immediately vote the same types of people into office that screwed up their lives, in the first place.. only way to maintain Monmouth’s uniqueness is to pay attention at each level, vet out,and vote out, all the wackadoos!

    Your last comment was straight out of Alinsky’s Rule’s For Radicals # 13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

    You do things like that, because when confronted with truth and facts, all you can do is try and tear down the messenger. It’s no different that what lazy liberals do when attacking Fox News. They can’t refute facts so they flaccidly claim it’s Fox and thus not to be trusted.

    One should feel very sad about people like you but mostly we just laugh at your ignorance.
