Christie nominates Cliff Moore to the Monmouth County Tax Board

Governor Chris Christie has nominated Clifford J. Moore, III of Hazlet to the Monmouth County Board of Taxation.
If confirmed by the State Senate, Moore will replace Daniel M. Kelly of Little Silver on the board. Kelly resigned last month due to professional commitments.
Moore is the president of the Keyport Bayfront Business Cooperative , past president of the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, and co-chair of the Hazlet Business Owners Association Economic Development Committee. Moore ran for Hazlet Township Committee, as a Democrat, last November. He is an owner of seven business in Hazlet and Keyport.
The Monmouth County Board of Taxation is comprised of four Republicans and three Democrats. Moore is taking a Democratic seat. The party of the incumbent governor holds the majority.
Matthew S. Clark, the Monmouth County Tax Administrator, said that the commissioners have a “broader, taller responsibility” than they have had in years past, as Monmouth is the first county in New Jersey to implement the Assessment Demonstration Program signed into law by Governor Christie in March. The Assessment Demonstration Program is “true property tax reform,” according to Clark, which includes online appeals and creates assessment precision. The online appeals process is a shared service that the Tax Board is offering to other counties to generate revenue and reduce the tax burden on Monmouth County property owners.
The commissioners hear tax appeal cases, certify property tax rates, certify the county’s equalization table, oversee the administration of county tax assessments, and certify the annual added assessments from Monmouth’s municipalities.
Commissioners on the Tax Board earn a salary of $18,000 per year. Clark did not know if new commissioners receive health benefits are part of their compensation. The Governor’s press office as yet to respond to an inquiry regarding health benefits for tax commissioners.

First he votes for the Dream Act to allow illegal students to be allowed to pay in-state tuition and now he nominates a Democrat who ran for office in Hazlet to the tax board? Maybe he should just pull a Bloomberg and flip.
Kelly, Clark and former Assman Mike Panter are all buddies and have been ripping off Monmouth County taxpayers for years. Anyone is better than Kelly . Clark should be the next to go.
Panter now practices law doing tax appeals. His buddy and business partner Kelly sat on the tax board and Clark was their buddy. Democrat cronyism.

I know exactly what I am talking about Bill. Good guy or not he ran in Hazlet last year as a Democrat against the Christie ticket. I guess Vin’s payback is a recommendation for a nice part time paying job on the Monmouth County Tax board. The Governor’s people fell right in.
Bill do us all a favor and go back to liberal la la land where Frank Pallone is viewed as effective for the bayshore and Obamacare is a great bill for better health.
Do a google search on Cliff Moore. He is business partners with Gopal. Funny how 3 different Monmouth Reps at the league of municipality mentioned how Gopal and his buddy George Gilmore were having dinner at Revel????

Joe6, Don’t be too sure about Kyrillos and Beck. They recently abstained from voting on the illegal immigrant tuition bill–a bill the governor wanted passed.
I say Beck and Kyrillos–the cowards that they are–will pretty much do the same–abstain on this.
Cliff wouldn’t have gotten the nomination if Kyrillos and Beck hadn’t already signed off on it.
If we have to have Democrats on the board, and we do, Cliff is an excellent choice. He’s excellent choice regardless of party.
If Republicans have RINOS, Cliff is a DINO. He’s more conservative than many Republicans.
Cliff stepped up in a big way in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Seeing a need to help people, Cliff didn’t wait for a government entity to fill it. He secured a store front and organized a distribution center to accept donated supplies and distribute them to Bayshore residents in need. He continues to support many charitable endeavors…with his leadership, not just his money….especially the RAINE Foundation.
Partisanship has its place, but those of you criticizing Cliff’s nomination are off base.
He’s a good man.
