Legislation sponsored by State Senator Vin Gopal that will require nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other long term care facilities to implement policies to prevent social isolation among their residents passed in the New Jersey Senate today, 39-0.
Senator Vin Gopal did not vote on the controversial bill passed and signed into law yesterday that allows Governor Phil Murphy and four Democrat legislators to borrow up to $9.9 billion without voter approval.
New Jersey’s Constitution requires voters to approve state government debt. New Jersey’s Courts, and therefore its Democrat legislators and Governors, treat the Constitution as book of aphorisms.
Senator Vin Gopal (D-11) submitted the following response to Tom DeSeno’s column criticizing his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I appreciate Tommy DeSeno more than he knows.
I know we disagree on a lot, but I firmly believe that if we hadn’t implemented aggressive social distancing measures over the past 2 months, we could have 80,000 deaths instead of the 10,000 horrific deaths that we’ve seen in New Jersey. That’s not my opinion: That’s according to every public health report–including the President’s.

I thought the award for worst political reaction to Covid-19
was going to be Senator Vin Gopal’s support of a bill to put people in jail for
a year who violate the lockdown order of our Governor, Prince Philip of Goldman
Sachs. Proving my old contention that
Democrats list toward Fascism when given power, it speaks little of Gopal that
his response to someone looking for work to feed their
family was to jail them.
State Senator Vin Gopal (D-11) told MMM that he is opposed to S4204, a bill introduced and sponsored by Senate President Steve Sweeney this month, that would classify thousands of small business owners now working as independent contractors to employees of their clients.
“As written, this bill would be devastating to freelance photographers, journalists, truck drivers and even babysitters,” Gopal said in a phone interview. “I am a NO on the bill in its current form.”
Senator Vin Gopal has issued his only endorsement in the Ocean Township municipal election for Dr. Margie Donlon.
The senator shared an advance copy of his endorsement letter with MMM. Ocean voters can expect to receive the letter in the mail tomorrow and Saturday.
State Senator Vin Gopal said it would be up to the courts to decide if New Jersey has the right to keep a presidential candidate, President Trump or any other candidate, off the ballot in the state if they do not disclose five years of tax returns, as required by legislation he voted in favor of last week, should the bill pass in the Assembly and be signed by Governor Phil. Murphy.
Gopal reached out to object to MMM’s coverage of his vote on the bill, S119,which would also prohibit Electoral College electors from voting for a candidate who did not disclose their tax returns, regardless of how voters cast their ballots. He objected to the use of the phrase “fellow cronies” in describing his relationships with the other Democrat senators who passed the bill last week. He said I was inferring that he was corrupt for not wanting the the disclosure requirement to apply to him and other NJ elected officials and that I was implying that his cash purchase of his Tinton Falls office building was nefarious.
State Senator Vin Gopal referred to supporters of President Donald Trump as “sneaky and underhanded” in an email to Monmouth County Democrats today, according to a report at NewJerseyGlobe.com .
“This type of sneakiness and underhandedness is something I would expect to see from Trump supporters or the far-right, not someone who claims they are acting in good faith to build the Democratic Party,” said Gopal.
Gopal was referring to Jennifer Fluharty, a self-proclaimed nasty woman, who is supporting former Asbury Park councilman Jim Keady for the Democrat nomination to lose to Congressman Chris Smith in November. Read the rest of this entry »
