Solomeno Thwarts Hazlet First Aid Squad’s Fundraising Effort

Vincent Solomeno, last year’s losing Democrat candidate for Monmouth County Surrogate, is running for office again.  This year he wants to unseat Mayor Sue Kiley on the Hazlet Township Committee.

Solomeno was the poorest performing Democrat on the County ticket last year, losing badly to Surrogate Rosemarie Peters by a margin of 58%-42%. He performed slightly better in his hometown of Hazlet where he lost to Peters, of Middletown, by 56% to 44%, while losing every election district in the township.  His effort last year was hampered when he denied using prostitutes after a facebook post wherein he announced that a “swedish whore name Cindy usually knows where to find me” was discovered online.

Vincent’s maturity and judgement does not appear to have improved in the last year.   Read the rest of this entry »

Murphy’s Gestapo Accosts Brookdale Grad at Dem Town Hall

Kevin Tober, a 23 year old Republican operative from Brick and a graduate of Brookdale Community College, was accosted at a Murphy for Governor Town Hall meeting in Hamilton Square on Wednesday evening.  The incident was captured on a facebook live video and posted to YouTube by SaveJersey.com

Middletown’s Deputy Mayor named Borough Administrator of West Long Branch

Stephanie Murray, the Deputy Mayor of Middletown Township, was named the Borough Administrator of West Long Branch, a part time position, at the August 9 council meeting of the borough.  Murray started the job on August 23.

“I’m thrilled to be able to start my new career in such a wonderful community,” Murray said. “The experience and knowledge I’ve acquired over the last six years as a member of the Middletown Township committee will contribute to the people of West Long Branch and my experience there will contribute to the people of Middletown.”

Murray is a graduate of the Rutgers University School of Public Affairs and Administration’s Certified Public Management Program, a curriculum she completed at her own expense last month.   She said that she applied for the West Long Branch job after seeing it posted on the NJ League of Municipalities website in July.  Read the rest of this entry »

S and P rates Marlboro’s debt AAA

Standard and Poors, the global credit rating agency, issued a AAA/Stable bond rating on $9.6 million in new borrowings by Marlboro and upgraded the Township’s existing debt to AAA as well.

The new rating makes Marlboro one of only 29 towns in New Jersey with the top possible credit rating, according to a statement from the Township.

“Marlboro’s credit is officially the highest grade available in the marketplace”, stated Mayor  Jonathan Hornik. “This means that our taxpayers benefit from the lowest possible costs for road, parks and recreation and other capital improvements.” Read the rest of this entry »

Ex-soccer Freehold Soccer League treasurer accused of stealing $457K from group
