Opinion: Elect Rob Acerra and Michael Whelan to Assembly in the 11th District

By Joe Hadden

These days it seems that in order to oppose someone politically, it is necessary to “ist” them. If they disagree with you they must be a fascist, communist, racist, sexist, socialist, etc. I don’t need to do that to voice my opposition to Assembly members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey. Demonizing them is not necessary.

Mr. Houghtaling and Ms. Downey are not evil, they’re just incompetent as elected representatives. They voted yes on a budget that took state aid away from many school districts in LD11, including Ocean Township. During the LD11 debate, Mr. Houghtaling was asked if New Jersey should become a Sanctuary State since his party’s candidate for Governor said it should. Mr. Houghtaling responded that he didn’t have an opinion on the issue. I dare say he might be the only person in New Jersey who doesn’t. He still hasn’t come up with an answer. Interview with Hazlet Mayor Sue Kiley

Hazlet Mayor Sue Kiley is engaged in a tough race for reelection to the Township Committee.

Her opponent, Vincent Solomeno is up to his old tricks.  Last year when he was a candidate for Monmouth County Surrogate, Solomeno depicted Rosemarie Peters as incompetent, disengaged and indifferent to the concerns of seniors, orphans and grieving families.  He’s using the same playbook this year as he is using social media and mail to try to convince Hazlet voters that Kiley is corrupt and incompetent. Middlesex County Jail Released 36 Illegal Aliens, Including Child Molesters

Middlesex County has been a sanctuary county since June when their all Democrat Freeholder Board voted to release criminally charged illegal aliens from custody in defiance of a federal order that the inmates be held for 48 hours until U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement Officers take custody of them.

Last week ICE agents arrested 36 of the criminally charged illegals, including a Filipino charged with sexual assault of a minor, a Mexican charged with child abuse, and a Mexican charged with criminal restraint of a minor, that Warden Mark Cranston had released from custody. Bill Clinton: NJ voters are stark raving crazy and foam at the mouth

Former President Bill Clinton did not call voters who don’t want New Jersey to be a sanctuary state “deplorable” yesterday when he was holding Phil Murphy’s hand in Bergen County yesterday.  He said we are stark raving crazy and prone to foam at the mouth, according to Politico’s coverage.

The hope is that the message can “set enough people on fire,” “get them foaming at the mouth” and “drive them stark raving crazy” so they head to the polls, Clinton said.

Clinton probably didn’t mean the kind of foaming at the mouth that memories of his presidency usually evoke. Read the rest of this entry »

Freehold Boro Councilman Jaye Sims, a Democrat, endorses Senator Jennifer Beck

Freehold Boro Councilman Jaye Sims announced his support for Senator Jennifer Beck’s reelection in the 11th legislative district.

An eleven year veteran of the Boro’s all Democrat governing body, Sims pointed to Beck’s record of success in delivering results for Freehold Borough and its overcrowded, underfunded schools as the main reason for his across-the-aisle endorsement.

“Senator Jennifer Beck has always been an independent voice who has consistently been an advocate for our residents, our children and our schools. Senator Beck has been instrumental in obtaining additional funding for Freehold Borough’s public schools, culminated in her success in securing $25 million in capital funding to renovate and enlarge Freehold Borough’s schools” said Councilman Sims. That Phil Murphy is one weird dude

It’s no wonder Phil Murphy won’t agree to be interviewed by NJTV’s  Michael Aron or Tommy G.  He’s weird.  He doesn’t get New Jersey and he doesn’t understand state government.

If you missed the debate last night, watch it before you vote on November 7.

Murphy came across as your drunk uncle who knows all the problems but changes the subject or gets combative when pressed on how he’ll actually pull off his magical plans.
