The Monmouth County Clerk’s Election Office and the Board of Elections Office, both located at 300 Halls Mills Road in Freehold Township, have extended their hours to accommodate voters who are not able to make it to the polls on Tuesday.
These offices are open Friday November 2 from 8:30 a.m.till 8 p.m. and on Saturday November 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registered voters can apply for a Vote by Mail ballot at the Clerk’s Office and then go down the hall to the Board of Elections office to cast their ballot during these hours and on Monday, November 5 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
By NJ law, the deadline to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot is 3 .pm. on Monday.

Martin Fried
Martin Fried, a pediatric gastroenterologist in Ocean Township is scheduled to appear in federal court in Newark this afternoon on charges of attempting to distribute oxycodone and distribution of Adderall and Xanax outside the usual course of professional practice and not for a legitimate medical purpose, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito.
According to documents filed in the case and statements made in court Fried owned and was the sole practitioner at a medical practice, Healthy Days LLC, at 3300 Sunset Ave, specializing in pediatric gastroenterology, and touting specialties in “nutrition,” “Lyme disease and co-infection,” and “genetic/DNA testing.”

Officials Say That Deal Will Enhance Recreation, Youth Sports, Open Space and Historic Preservation
The Township of Holmdel and the County of Monmouth have entered an administrative land trade deal, according to an announcement by Mayor Tom Critelli.
Holmdel will receive 13.8 acres of land that sits adjacent to Holmdel Park and across Crawford’s Corner Road from the entrance of Holmdel Township High School and the Holmdel Theatre Company in exchange for approximately 115 acres of Cross Farm Park land located to the southwest of Willowbrook Road, abutting Colts Neck Township.

Bernard and Linda Ebner accept the Vietnam veteran’s replacement military metals from Congressman Chris Smith
Bernard and Linda Ebner lost their Union Beach home of 47 years and most of their possessions to twelve feet of water during Superstorm Sandy six years ago this week. Among those possession were the medals that Bernard, a Vietnam War veteran, earned during his four years of service.
Congressman Chris Smith presented the Ebners with replacement medals on Tuesday, October 30, during an emotional ceremony in the congressman’s Ocean County office in Plumsted which is nearby the couple’s new home in Whiting.

HOWELL TOWNSHIP-Howell Township Democrats are sending mixed messages in the 2018 municipal election. At the local level, Democrats running for municipal council are running a fierce anti-Lakewood, anti-development campaign, blaming Republicans for approved housing, mandated by the State of New Jersey under the Council of Affordable Housing(COAH).
COAH is a mandate which sets a specific amount of affordable homes each town in New Jersey must build in order to become compliant. COAH is a doctrine championed by New Jersey Democrats who passed the legislation in 1985 and it was reinforced throughout the years by the liberal leaning New Jersey Supreme Court.
